Project Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Image Recognition Data Scientist to join our team on a freelance basis. Our project aims to develop a state-of-the-art image recognition system to enhance our product’s functionality, enabling us to deliver more accurate and efficient solutions to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer vision, deep learning, and data science, with a proven track record of developing and deploying image recognition models.
Responsibilities
Data Collection and Preparation:
Gather and preprocess a large dataset of images relevant to our project requirements.
Annotate and label images accurately to ensure high-quality training data.
Model Development:
Design and implement advanced image recognition models using deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
Experiment with various architectures (e.g., CNNs, ResNet, Inception) to optimize model performance.
Training and Evaluation:
Train image recognition models on high-performance computing resources.
Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall) and perform hyperparameter tuning to enhance results.
Deployment:
Deploy the trained models into a production environment, ensuring scalability and reliability.
Develop APIs or integrate models with existing systems as required.
Continuous Improvement:
Monitor and maintain model performance, making necessary adjustments based on feedback and new data.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in image recognition and machine learning to incorporate best practices and innovative solutions.
Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
Extensive knowledge of computer vision techniques and image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, PIL).
Experience with data annotation tools and practices.
Experience:
Proven experience in developing and deploying image recognition models.
Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and techniques.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Project Details
Duration: 6 months (with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance).
Location: Remote (with periodic virtual meetings).
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, negotiable based on experience and expertise.
